Guidelines for manuscripts submitted to “Vestnik of the Buryat State Academy of Agriculture named after V.R. Philippov”

The length of an article including tables, illustrations and references should not exceed 10 pages. For such journal columns as “Problems. Judgements. Brief reports” and “Heroes of the day” it should not be longer than 5 pages.

All manuscripts are refereed and only then, if accepted, published.

The editors’ office of the journal kindly asks authors to follow submission requirements given below. Articles which do not meet them will not be accepted for reviewing.

Submission Requirements

An author should provide a letter of permission signed by the head of an organization which sponsored the research and an expert opinion on a manuscript publication.

Manuscripts should be typed in Microsoft Word (*.doc or *.docx file extensions): the main text, tables and illustration with captions should be typed in 1.5 spacing, 14-point Times New Roman; a list of keywords and an abstract – single-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman. The text typed on one side of the A4 paper should have 20-mm margins on each side, page numbering – at the foot of a page, in the middle.

General layout of manuscript: a UDC identifier; names, affiliations and city of all the authors, the title of the article in bold capital letters, a list of keywords, an abstract, a main text, and references.

An abstract should meet the requirements of the GOST (State Standard) 7.9-95 System of standards on information, librarianship and publishing. An abstract and an annotation. General requirements. The recommended abstract word limit is 200-250 words.

Author’s names, affiliations and city, the title of the article, a list of keywords, and an abstract are also given in English.

The main text should include: introduction, terms and methods of research, results of research and their discussion, conclusions and recommendations.

Scientific terminology, notations, units of measurement, and symbols should strictly follow the requirements of the state standards.

Mathematical and chemical formulae as well as signs, symbols and notations should be typed in the equation editor.

In the formulae relative sizes and positions of symbols and indices should comply with their value and overall content of the formulae.

Tables, diagrams and drawings should be given just after the paragraph containing a reference to them.

References are listed in alphabetical order. A reference number in the text is given within square parentheses, e.g. [2]. A reference in the list is given in its original language. The reference list should comply with the requirements of the GOST 7.1-2003 System of standards on information, librarianship and publishing. Bibliographic record. Bibliographic entry. References in articles submitted to the journal should conform to the formats below:

  •  For monographs – last name and initials of the first author, title of the book, initials and last names of the first three authors (if there are more than three authors, reference is given to the title of the book), publication frequency, place of publication, name of the publishing house, year of publication, volume number, number of pages.

  • For articles – last name and initials of the first author, title of the article, initials and last names of the first three authors, etc., for a journal – its title, year of publication, volume, issue, pages; for a collected volume – its title, place of publication, name of the publishing house, year of publication, volume number, issue number, pages.

An author (co-author) has a right to publish only one article in the current issue of “Vestnik of BSAA”, as an exceptional case – one more article as a co-author.

An article should be provided both in electronic (in CD or by e-mail: Этот адрес электронной почты защищен от спам-ботов. У вас должен быть включен JavaScript для просмотра. ) and hard copies (2 copies) printed on one side of A4 paper signed by all the authors.

The publication fee is not charged to PhD students.

An author should also provide the following personal information:

  • Full name including last name, first name, and patronymic;
  • Academic degree, academic title;
  • Position;
  • Place of work;
  • Work address  (including postal code) and E- mail (mandatory);
  • Address for mailing  (if different from above);
  • Contact phone number.

A decision to publish a manuscript submitted is taken by the Editorial Board.
